Tell me, we can not be the only people noticing the amount of Mid-Century Modern homes being used for back drops in major car commericals and hit TV show productions can we?

If I had to guess this observation started roughly 2 years ago when Lexus shot the December to remember commercial using an almost all glass very period correct sleek Mid-Century Modern home. I have viewed the commercial a few times and noticed the home get's quite the attention, almost enhancing the overall product line in my opinion.

Nothing quite say's Christmas and holiday season like a view from inside your jewelry glass box living room and a fresh pile of snow blanketing the yard.

Taking off from this Lexus commerical I have paid close attention and noticed just about every major automobile manufacturer has focused their attention shooting commercials with Mid-Century Modern homes in the back ground. Leading the way in my opinion is Cadillac going perhaps a bit more Contemporary Modern and Lexus who always continues to incorporate some shots of MCM architecture or culture in most of their commercials advertisements. Pay close attention to the hotel lobby scene in this Lexus Commercial featuring "Nick Waterhouse"

Not to be left out however, even some of the die hard american brands like Chevy and Ford are taking note and using these wonderful architectually designed works of art to enhance the idea of you owning their brand or a certian model in the lineup.

For all my Bone's TV show lover's out there I feel silly for even mentioning this but did anyone else notice Booth and Bones new MCM digs?? Well we found some inside shots on the web featured to the right. If your lucky enough during the show to get a glimpse of the outside it will tend to happen right before they cut to a scene of Booth and Bones in the house.

If hollywood is spending this much time making sure their sourcing the right home for these high dollar budget commercials take notice. If you are considering buying a next home or first home please take a step back from the traditional cookie cutter nieghborhoods and give one of these older homes a chance even if it's a walk thorugh.

Additional side note: In almost every major city you will find local production companies who help produce anything from a documentary, commerical, or major film. If you live in a unique MCM home contact some of these production companies as you never know maybe your home will be featured next!!
