When it come to clothes, nothing is more rewarding then the perfect fit!
The shirt that flatters you the right way, the jacket that falls effortlessly off your shoulders and those trousers that stop at the ankle without bunching into a wad.
Clothes that fit and feel smart quickly become the few go to pieces in your closet; effortlessly making you look and feel your best. AKA Confidence Boost Material..... But is it possible to have every piece in your closet actually fit? Of Course and here's why!
One of the harder clothing items to get just right is a great pair of trousers. They're too long, too wide, too short, or the waist is never quite right. It can sometimes feel like there is nothing out there made quite for you. Are you really that different?!? Do you shoe shop with Lebron? Or travel through Tolkien's Wilderland? DOUBT IT.
So since your not lucky enough to chill with the forementioned crew above you have to start somewhere and that is either a store or online. Always try on pants or you may be making a second trip to return the ill-fitting ones. If your lucky enough to have a little extra keesh we highly recommend taking your time and ordering a few different brands online, this may take sometime to get used too but this go to move will allow you to have way more diversity than a store. It isn't uncommon for us to order 3-5 pairs of an exact fit from different brands and only keep one. Hey, returns are easier then ever and trying on clothes at home is way less stressful than a fitting room at the mall.
When trying on pants it is important to know your body and what will work best. Skinnies will just NEVER work on some men, sorry. But similiar styles are not far off. Go for a straight leg on the slim side and make sure the crotch doesn't hang too low. Be sure the waist isn't too wide and the legs not too long, some solid ankle action if we may! If all the above are cramping your style then stop trying with those crap pants! If you found something you like and the waist is little loose or they just need a slight hemming, take those bad boys home! Those are easy and inexpensive fixes.
When buying good quality clothes, it is definitely worth it to get them tailored to you. You will get more wear out of your investment and they will be all-around more flattering (remember guys; chicks check out butts too). Think slimmer, taller, and well-proportioned in general. All for less than a gym membership.
If you are currently in the dark let us show you the light. Some MidModerns faves can be found at Nordstroms and will not break the bank or your budget. Try brands like Ted Baker, AG, and TopMan and if you hit the jackpot, tailoring is complimentary (and returns are easy, not that you'll need to) Win, Win!
